Seminar on Advanced Computing

A NATIONAL SEMINAR ON ADVANCED COMPUTING TECHNIQUES

Quantum has made it a hallmark of education to remain abreast with contemporary issues and the frontiers of Science and Technology.  To this end it has nurtured a strong tradition of hosting seminars and conferences. In this series, a National Seminar was held on 22nd and 23rd September 2017. The subject of the conference was ‘Emerging Trends in Advanced Computing Techniques.’

The entire function was held at Shyamji Auditorium where the arrival of the Chief Guest was felicitated with bouquet of flowers. Mr Ajay Goyal, Chairman of Quantum University, accorded the Chief Guest a hearty welcome, offering him a bouquet and the memento of the institution. The event was witnessed and applauded by the members of the Managing Body, the Board of Directors, faculty members and the students.

The Chief Guest, Dr. P. K. Garg, the Vice Chancellor of the UTU, lit a lamp to hail Goddess Sharada and inaugurate the proceedings. A rendition of the melodious kulgeet of Uttarakhand Technical University added a sense of urgency to the event. This was followed by a sweet Vandana of Lord Krishna.

The First Session commenced with the address by Dr Gulshan Chauhan, the Director of the institution. He welcomed all the honorable guests shedding light on the importance and implications of the conference. The next speaker was Mr Vaibhav Gupta who introduced the Guest of Honor and the keynote speaker, Dr. Shakti Kumar.

The next speaker Smt. Neeta Sharma acquainted the audience with the multidimensional personality and the extra-ordinary achievements of the Chief Guest. She invited the chief guest to say a few words.

Dr. Shakti Kumar, the keynote speaker, lectured on the importance and utility of ‘Soft Computing for Deep Learning.’ The audience was deeply absorbed in his intellectual discourse.

The honorable Chief Guest enthralled the audiences with his motivational and elemental oration. In his scholastic address, Prof Garg shed light on the ‘Role of ICT Computational Tools and the Challenges and opportunities’.

The end of session was marked by a thanks giving note rendered by Mr. M. S. Gupta, the Dean Academics. The proceedings culminated with the recitation of melodious kulgeet of Quantum University.   

The entire function enlightened the audiences and inspired the students to seek and push the frontiers of knowledge.
