IEEE Robotics & Automation Society Congress planned at Quantum University on 21st and 22nd September.

Introduction

“The best way to create memories is to gather and share the ideas, creativity and innovations”.Presenting you the first ever IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Congress (RASC). The congress comprises the events full with the information in the field of Robotics and Automation. The Robotics and Automation Society Chapter at IEEE Student Branch, Quantum School of Technology aims at bringing together students and likeminded people to connect collaborate and exchangetheir thoughts. The goal of the congress is to create awareness about recent advancements in the field of robotics and automation.

Themes for Distinguished Lectures*

1. Motivational Session on Benefits of IEEE Membership

2. Prospects of Robotics and Automation in Agriculture

3. Involvement of Artificial Intelligence in Day to Day Life

4. Industry 4.0 

* Themes would be related to the above technical areas

Theme for Participants Presentation Session

Societal Impact of Robotics and Automation – The presentations are invited from the participants reflecting the benefits of robotics, automation and its allied technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning on the day to day life of the society. The presentation should contain the following parameters in the following order;

1. Title of the presentation

2. Name, affiliation and contact details of the participant

3. Brief introduction of the technology covered

4. How the technology covered is benefitting the society. The presentation can be submitted through email at ieee.qst@quantumeducation.in.The best three presentations in each session would be awarded with cash prizes and certificates.

Themes for Participants Panel Discussion Session

A panel discussion would be organized on any one of the following themes.

1. Would Robots Replace Humans?

2. Artificial Intelligence – A threat or Boon to the Society?

3. Artificial Intelligence – Creating unemployment?

4. Self-Driving Cars – Safe or Threat ,One panel would consist of 10 to 15 participants for Discussion.

Registration Process

1. The participants are required to register by filling the registration form available on the event website http://sites.ieee.org/sb-qst/.

2. After filling the registration form, the participants are required to pay the registration fee as mentioned below latest by September 1, 2018.

3. The duly filled registration form and a copy of fee receipt should be submitted latest by September 5, 2018 through mail at ieee.qst@quantumeducation.in or post at the institute address.

Registration Fee:

Non-IEEE Members – INR 1250/-

IEEE Members (Non – RAS Members) – INR 1000/-

IEEE Members (RAS Members) – INR 750/-

Last date of registration (including fee payment): September 1, 2018

Last date of receipt of registration form and fee receipt: September 5, 2018

Last date of presentation submission: September 10, 2018

About IEEE Student Branch:

IEEE Student Branch was established at Quantum School of Technology, Roorkee in January 2017 for encouraging the students, research scholars and faculties for exploring the information in the field of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, and Computer Science for Research and Development purpose. After the approval of the branch in January 2017, we have also taken the membership of one affinity group (Women in Engineering, Approved in March 2017) and one technical chapter (Robotics and Automation Society, Approved in June 2017).
